A Datadose dermatology controller was recently returned for upgrade. Great to see these controllers still working 10 years after the design was finished. The Datadose is an amazing feat of electronics with a backlit touchscreen interface, an onboard patient record log, data log, event log with a real-time clock and a printer interface. The Datadose uses an array of passwords, and has a powerful service mode where the unit can be calibrated. Hospitals which still operate the Datadose Dermatology cabinet include Royal North Shore, RPAH, St George and Liverpool. Wayne Electronics stopped manufacturing these cabinets due to TGA cost registration (>100k/yr) which made manufacturing these cabinets in Australia unfeasible. Thanks TGA!
